Doors at the Top of the Stairs: on Ellis Island
Ellis Island in New York is where immigrants landing in the US used to be processed. I can only imagine how scary and intimidating a process that would have been, either to arrive alone or to join family, especially in the days before mobile phones made connecting so certain. These doors, in the immigration centre, convey a sense of the fear and unknown.
Images are printed to order on fine art paper using archival inks, which produce beautiful, richly detailed Giclée prints designed to last for years. Each comes with a slim white border and is hand signed on the front. The finished size is the paper size, including the border. Where you choose a print with mount, the finished size includes the mount.
